John Wojciechowski, MS, CSCS, NSCA-CPT

John began his fitness journey when his parents signed him up for gymnastics lessons at the age of seven. He's since participated in karate, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, football, track & field, highland games, powerlifting, grip sport, OCR and even completed a marathon.

He earned a track & field scholarship to Rutgers University where he was regionally successful with the shot put, discus and 35lb weight until suffering a career ending injury to his throwing hand.

He has been strength training for over 34 years and has instructed at track & field clinics, worked for big box gyms and coached at group training gyms literally helping hundreds of people get fitter, leaner and stronger!

Metabolic Functional Fitness started as a personal training business operated out of John's garage in West Orange, NJ. The business eventually moved into a small studio around the corner from that house and has now grown into the small group training gym it is today.

John is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer. He is also Functional Movement Screen Certified, Pain-Free Performance Specialist Certified with Dr. John Rusin and has completed the Underground Strength Coach Certification with warehouse gym pioneer Zach Even-Esh.

John earned his B.S. in Business and Economics from Cook College at Rutgers University and his M.S. in Engineering Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Currently, John is focusing on improving his deadlift strength and looking to compete sometime early in 2022!

John also enjoys playing guitar, dabbling in the stock market and discovering new bourbons to try!
